I am so in the mood for this poetry slam, you have no idea. We’ve got 12+ performers, a few more prices, food donations, the most kick ass space in all of this city, and possibly a musical performer or two. I’ve downloaded some Saul Williams albums and it’s helping me write my own poem for the slam. Which I’m kind of nervous for. I’ll probably back out, I have no idea.

It’s hard being vulnerable.

We also might be getting it videotaped by this kid we know.

Megan and I were walking around to a few classes the other day to inform them, and the substitute teacher in there was like, “yeah, I’m one of the event coordinators for the Art in the Loft and I heard about that. I love poetry, and I’ll probably read something.” Even one of the principals at our school is going to do it.

Mr. Cook is finally starting to seem a little more optimistic about it, now that everything is falling into place. Which is awesome.

I might get a new camera this weekend. I don’t know. I’ve got $1,300 for my Make-A-Wish and I don’t want to buy a lot of stuff I won’t use. I’m notorious for inspirations that come and go.

David Cook should probably win American Idol, please.
